Millington sits on the Chester River at the Queen Anne's–Kent County line, straddling the border with the majority of its roughly 600 residents on the Queen Anne's side. Originally known as Bridgetown and then Head of Chester, it was renamed for Richard Millington in 1828. The town supports a small commercial base of local service businesses, a volunteer fire company, and agricultural enterprises in the surrounding countryside. Fishing access to the upper Chester River and proximity to Millington Wildlife Management Area support outdoor recreation.
